Mida Law respects your privacy. This policy describes, in general terms, how personal information is collected and handled in connection with this website, consistent with Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA).

Information we collect

When you contact the firm, we collect the information you choose to provide, typically your name, contact details, and the content of your message. We ask that you keep messages general until a conflicts check is complete, and that you do not send government ID or sensitive documents by ordinary email.

How we use information

Information you provide is used to respond to you, to check for conflicts of interest, and, if the firm confirms it can act for you, to provide legal services. We do not sell personal information.

Email subscriptions

If you subscribe through the form on our Insights page, we collect your email address and a record of your consent: the date and time, the exact wording you agreed to, and limited technical information such as your IP address, kept solely as evidence of that consent. We use your email address only to send occasional legal-topic updates and articles from Mida Law. This is general information, not legal advice, and subscribing does not create a lawyer-client relationship. We do not sell or share your email address, and we do not add you to unrelated marketing. Your details are stored within our own website. You can unsubscribe, or ask us to correct or delete your information, at any time by contacting us using the details under “Access and questions” below.

Consent

By contacting Mida Law you consent to the collection and use of the information you provide for the purposes described above. Contacting the firm does not create a solicitor-client relationship.

Storage and security

This website is served over HTTPS, so information you send through it is encrypted in transit. The website is hosted on managed servers located in Toronto, Canada. Email for the firm is provided through a third-party business email service, which may process or store messages on servers outside Canada. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to our firm; however, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

Analytics and cookies

This website uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, how visitors find and use the site, for example which pages are viewed and which search engines or websites refer visitors. Google Analytics is configured without advertising features or Google Signals, Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses, and we do not use analytics data to identify individual visitors. Analytics cookies are set for this purpose, alongside cookies that are technically necessary for the website to function. The website does not use advertising or cross-site tracking tools. You can opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

Third parties

We use a small number of service providers to operate the website and communicate with people who contact us, currently our website hosting provider, our business email provider, and Google (Google Analytics, described above). These providers process information only as needed to deliver their services. We do not sell personal information.

Retention

Information is retained in accordance with Mida Law’s internal retention policies, applicable legal and professional obligations, and legitimate operational requirements.
