Secure ID Upload

This page lets you provide a copy of your government-issued photo ID to Mida Law securely. You can also email clear scans to admin@midalaw.ca if you prefer.

What to upload

A clear photo of a valid, current government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s licence, passport, Ontario Photo Card or permanent resident card. For cards, please upload the front and the back. Please do not upload a health card or a municipal ID card. JPEG or PNG images only, up to 3 files of 10 MB each.

How your ID is protected

Your images are encrypted in your browser before they leave your device, using a key that only our office holds. They are stored on our own server in Toronto, Canada, outside the public website, and are never attached to email or shared with analytics or other services. Only authorized firm personnel can open them, and every access is logged.

How long we keep it

If we do not go on to act for you, the copies are deleted within 7 days of that decision, and in any case within 30 days of upload if no decision is made. If we do act for you, the ID is moved to your client file and the copy here is deleted.

What it does and does not mean

Providing ID helps us confirm who we are speaking with and can speed up our review, including our conflicts check. It does not make you a client, and it is not the formal identity verification the Law Society may require later if we act for you. To ask about, correct or delete your upload, email admin@midalaw.ca. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Upload your ID

You can also email clear scans to admin@midalaw.ca if you prefer. Ordinary email does not have the browser-side encryption this page uses.

Prefer not to upload? That is fine. You can still request a consultation, and our office may ask about identification later.
